In the game of Blackjack at an online casino, there is an action which is known as doubling down. When a player decides to double down, he or she is offering to stand after taking one more card. This stand is taken in exchange for doubling the initial bet. Doubling down is something that is done when a player feels that he or she should have confidence enough to wager more than the normal amount. This would work well in a situation where a player has two cards that equal ten perhaps. There would be no possible way that this person would bust and a good chance that he or she may also beat some other players.

Doubling down is only available on the first hand. If the player does not choose this option during the first hand then it will be no longer available during the course of the game.
